This deep edge painting on canvas is one of a companion pair and was inspired by a trip to the Scottish coastline.

By the time I finished it back in my studio it was turning wintry and cold. I wanted to capture the silent open space reaching out to the sea and the hint of the Belhaven bridge or The Bridge To Nowhere as it’s fondly called.

The colours here are a silvery muted blend with a hint of pink pastel and a darker form suggested on the horizon.
